Come and work for the SBUHB Physiotherapy Service in beautiful Swansea Bay, with fabulous coastline, outdoor pursuits, and mountain walking all within easy travelling distance.

Joining our team you will be afforded fantastic opportunities for CPD, teaching and mentoring through senior staff educated to Masters level, or above. We have long established links with multiple South Wales Universities, for undergrad and post- grad Physio education, including the provision of student placements.

Recently we have had many staff secure HEIW funding for post graduate study. We have strong relationships with the School of Health Science, and School of Medicine at Swansea University, both in terms of accessing post-grad courses, supporting research projects, and providing teaching and education to medical students.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties:

To manage a Musculoskeletal caseload, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital & community settings.

To be an active participant in the On Call rota and the 7-day working rota.

To maintain clinical records and report accurately to others.

To develop skills and knowledge through participation in the band 5 Development Programme and competency framework.

Qualifications and knowledge

Essential criteria

1. Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
2. Experience working within NHS
3. Basic knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance

Experience

Essential criteria

4. Understanding of the fundamentals of Physiotherapy
5. Documented evidence of CPD/reflective practice.
6. Basic understanding of the significance of professional regulation e.g. HCPC, CSP

Aptitude and abilities

Essential criteria

7. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
8. Group work skills with effective written and oral communication skills.
9. Computer Literacy/IT skills

Skills

Essential criteria

10. Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner
11. Motivation & enthusiasm
12. Ability to undertake rehabilitation handling of patients.
