An opportunity to play your part – As an IS Portfolio Delivery Manager at Centrica, you'll sit right at the heart of where strategy meets delivery. You'll be responsible for managing and successfully delivering a diverse portfolio of Agile and Waterfall initiatives, each with clear outcomes that directly support a specific business area. Working closely with senior business and technology leaders, you'll build trusted relationships, align priorities and ensure the right outcomes are delivered at the right time. You'll lead and inspire teams across a matrix organisation, creating an environment where multi‑disciplinary teams and projects can genuinely thrive. Whether it's navigating complexity, removing obstacles or bringing people together around a shared goal, you'll bring clarity, momentum and a sense of fun to how we deliver. Beyond day-to-day delivery, you'll play an active role in shaping and evolving our Delivery Management capability, championing the technology agenda and helping drive transformation across the organisation in support of Centrica's wider strategic ambitions.
Location: UK-based hybrid role, Weekly travel to site.
The Day to Day:
* Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a programme or portfolio, ensuring all projects achieve clear, measurable business outcomes
* Own the portfolio plan, budget and scope, taking accountability for delivering benefits to time, cost and quality expectations
* Balance competing priorities, dependencies and risks across the portfolio to keep delivery moving and outcomes protected
* Work collaboratively across the business and supporting functions to shape vision, business cases, plans and delivery models for complex, interconnected change
* Ensure the portfolio remains aligned to business objectives, DTS strategy and wider Centrica goals, supporting quarterly, annual and three‑year change planning cycles
* Establish and run effective governance that enables strong decision‑making, removes obstacles and manages stakeholder challenges through clear reporting
* Maximise return on investment by continuously reviewing options and alternatives throughout the portfolio lifecycle
What we need from you:
* Proven experience leading senior stakeholder communications and business‑wide change activity, ensuring complex change is embedded successfully and benefits are realised in line with approved business cases
* Extensive experience managing the inter‑relationships between large programmes or portfolios, wider change initiatives and business‑as‑usual operations across both business and technology environments
* Strong track record of managing delivery and relationships with internal functions, including DTS, alongside effective commercial and performance management of third‑party suppliers and delivery partners
* Experienced in delivering programmes and portfolios in line with agreed quality standards, change methodologies and portfolio governance frameworks, working closely with Planning & Performance functions
* Demonstrated ability to plan and manage programme and portfolio resourcing, ensuring the right skills, capacity and contingency are in place to meet delivery commitments
* Recognised for leading, coaching and motivating multi‑disciplinary teams across business functions and DTS, fostering collaboration, accountability and high performance to achieve successful outcomes
* Hands‑on experience conducting structured quality assurance and health‑check reviews across programmes and projects, identifying risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities early
