Associate Opportunity: Business Development Partner (Part-Time, Remote)
Looking for your next strategic partnership in the nuclear sector?
SimplyBD, founded by nuclear engineer Alix Johnstone-Morfoisse, is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our growing consultancy.
We're not just looking for another contractor - we want to find the right person who shares our passion for the nuclear industry and can become a trusted partner in our mission.
If you're an experienced BD professional with nuclear or regulated industry expertise who values independence while being part of something bigger, this could be the perfect partnership.
The Partnership:
We're offering an associate arrangement (25 hours/week) with complete autonomy over how and when you work. You'll partner with Alix to drive growth for SimplyBD and our clients, leveraging your nuclear/regulated industry experience to build meaningful relationships and win new business.
This isn't a typical contractor role - you'll be a strategic partner with input into how we grow the business. Occasional industry events (1-2 times per quarter) keep you connected to the sector, while most work is done remotely with full flexibility.
What we're looking for:
Non-negotiable requirements:
* Nuclear or regulated industry experience - This is essential. We need someone who understands the sector, the players, and the unique challenges.
* Proven track record in B2B business development or sales within technical industries
* Strong LinkedIn skills for relationship building and lead generation (quality engagement approach)
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Ideal associate background:
* Independent BD consultant looking for steady, quality work
* Former nuclear/energy industry professional now freelancing
* Experienced BD manager who's gone independent
* Consultant specializing in technical/regulated sectors
* Former corporate BD professional seeking more autonomy
Why partner with SimplyBD:
Industry Credibility: Alix brings deep nuclear expertise from companies like Jacobs, Assystem, and Urenco, plus ongoing PhD research. You'll be partnering with someone the industry respects.
Established Platform: SimplyBD already has 5 clients on retainer and a growing reputation. You're joining something with momentum, not starting from scratch.
Quality Focus: We work with interesting clients on meaningful projects. No high-volume, low-value activities - just strategic, relationship-driven business development.
True Partnership: Your experience and insights will help shape how we grow. This isn't just "do what you're told" - we want your strategic input.
Flexible Arrangement: Work when and how you want, as long as the results are delivered. Perfect for experienced professionals who value autonomy.
Fair Compensation: Competitive daily/hourly rates for quality work, with potential for performance bonuses as we grow together.
The founder you'll partner with:
Alix has built SimplyBD from zero to 5 retainer clients in 2+ years while completing her PhD in Nuclear Physics. She understands both the technical and commercial sides of the nuclear industry and has the relationships and credibility to open doors. You'll be working with someone who gets it.
What success looks like:
In your first 6 months, you'll help us secure 2-3 new clients while building your own network within our growing business. This is about quality relationships and strategic wins, not volume metrics.
