Our OEM Client based in Coventry is searching for an Optical Quality Engineer professional to join their team on an Inside IR35 6-month contract. For further information on the opportunity, please see below: Summary of Department & Role: Working on both Pre and Post KO, the AME team is part of the Advanced Product Creation department. The team specialises in developing and integrating in the following areas for new vehicle concepts. Manufacturing Feasibility. Dimensional Management. Perceived Quality. This is in support of TMPV / EV business units and for third-party consultancy work. The AME team covers all aspects of the Vehicle Assembly process covering Stampings, BIW assembly and TCF vehicle assembly. APC other functions include the following areas: Upper body and Closures. Exterior Trim. Interior trim including Cockpit. The role will include both Exterior & Interior Trim development. The primary role is to support TML projects in the design stages of the program. The role will report to the Lead Engineer of the PQ team. Main Activities & Tasks: Generation and maintenance of the PQ Register and PQ Attribute within the Program Issues Register Support the Lead in guiding design and engineering teams in understanding and applying potential solutions which achieve PQ targets. Support the Lead in performing digital reviews and sign-off events for OQ/PQ related activities, for Exterior and Interior systems. Provide technical support to cross functional teams. Assist with the Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting findings. Support Optical Quality & Perceived Quality development & assessment activities. Assist in the development of a PQ Benchmarking database CAD operation skills not essential however the ability to interpret CAD drawings and sectional data is essential TCUA (Team Centre) PLM utilisation is desirable Plan and co-ordinate OQ Reviews for Exterior and Interior Support Lead PQ Integration Engineer on complete vehicle reviews and Benchmarking exercises as required. Other Features of Roles: Resource to be available on site for a minimum of 3 days per week to facilitate OQ Reviews and Benchmarking activity as required
