About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Ground Investigation Engineer/Geologist/Engineering Geologist/Geo-environmental Engineer/Environmental Scientist to join our Ground Engineering Team in Leeds. In this role, you will manage bids, projects, fieldwork, and data, leading the preparation of reports to advise clients.
The Land Quality team undertakes site assessments and investigations for diverse clients across sectors such as energy, property development, infrastructure, mining, local authorities, and waste management.
Responsibilities
* Supervise ground investigation activities, potentially working away from home for extended periods.
* Conduct land contamination, mining/geology, and ground engineering desk studies.
* Supervise site works, including soil and rock logging according to UK standards.
* Perform site monitoring activities like groundwater and gas sampling.
* Assist with site investigation design and reporting.
* Specify and supervise in-situ testing and sampling per UK specifications.
* Coordinate with clients, engineers, contractors, and sub-contractors during site activities.
* Assist in preparing contract documentation and managing contracts.
* Assess and analyze geotechnical and geo-environmental data.

We seek individuals from graduate to senior levels, capable of working independently and in teams. Essential qualities include strong communication, organization, flexibility, and commitment. Requirements:
* BSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Geology, or Science (MSc or industry experience advantageous)
* Experience logging soils and rocks per UK standards
* Valid UK driving license
* Report writing and software skills
