Psychological Therapist (Part-Time)

Location: Croydon

Hours: 16 hours per week (Flexible working hours)

Salary: £16,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

About This Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of a new project within our Wraparound Service in the UK. As Psychological Therapist, key aspects of your role will be:

1. Facilitation of Reflective Practice for residential staff to help support therapeutically informed practice, staff resilience and emotional wellbeing.
2. Direct support to Children in Care and Care Leavers to improve their emotional health and well-being, and to provide any additional support identified as needed by statutory services to those with mental health needs.
3. Working with children, residential carers and social workers where care arrangements are at risk of breaking down.
4. Consultative support and training to foster carers and residential staff where there are children in placement who have complex needs.
5. Support the development of the UK Therapeutic Service to help meet the needs of staff and young people across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have:

6. Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Therapy)
7. A minimum of three years working directly with children, young people and families
8. Experience of dealing with crisis situations and working with emergency services
9. A minimum of one years’ experience of delivering therapeutic interventions
10. Previous experience of delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
11. Experience of working in a multi-agency setting
12. Knowledge of UK Legislative framework
13. Good interpersonal and communication skills
14. Knowledge/Experience of Care Planning and Care Management
15. Ability to manage caseload and to work on own initiative
16. Responsive to deadlines
17. Excellent IT, report writing and presentation skills
18. Ability and willingness to work outside of normal office hours as required
