* Salary: £49,764 - £52,805
* Location: Sheffield (This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)

Please note that SYMCA follows a structured salary grading system for all roles, and the offered salary for each post will be at the starting point within the specified grade. South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) is currently in the process of reviewing its terms and conditions of employment including pay and grading. At South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), we are committed to delivering inclusive economic growth, improving skills, and supporting businesses across the region. The Education, Skills and Employability Team are seeking a highly capable and experienced Contracts and Performance Manager to drive performance and impact through the management of delivery of a large and complex portfolio of grants and contracts across major skills and employment programmes.

This role is central to ensuring that our contracted activity is delivered efficiently, meets compliance standards (through close working with our Quality and Compliance Team), and supports the delivery of our strategic objectives by evidencing impact.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead on delivery of significant programmes and oversee all aspects of contract and performance management. This includes:

* Developing and embedding contract management standards.
* Supporting contract managers through training and guidance.
* Working closely with internal teams and external delivery partners to ensure effective delivery.
* You will also play a key role in enabling organisational objectives through strong relationships with government departments and funding bodies.

It is an exciting time to join the team as we work to deliver system change across work and health through our employment support programmes under the banner of Pathways to Work; and implement our South Yorkshire Skills Strategy across our growing devolved Adult Skills functions.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You will bring a solid grounding in delivery of major skills or employment support programmes, and an understanding of public sector contracting and delivery, ideally in a combined authority setting.

Depending on experience of the candidate there will be opportunity to lead the delivery of our expanded Skills Bootcamps programme, or the forthcoming Connect to Work employment support programme.
