Job Title: Senior Manager - Insights and Impact Department: Education, Employment & Training Reports to: Head of Social, Education and Health Hub Salary: £37,000 - 41,000 per annum depending on experience Closing Date: 14 th July First Interviews: 29th & 30th July Second Interviews : 5th & 6th August Brentford FC Community Sports Trust With community work spanning three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all walks of life. Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, health, sports participation and community engagement. The Trust has won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff. Staff will be required to undertake regular safeguarding training to enable and reinforce a proactive approach to safeguarding. This role requires the post holder to apply all relevant policies and uphold the club’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people to ensure a safe environment for all. This includes the timely reporting of any safeguarding concern to the safeguarding team. To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Trust and its personnel To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times Main Purpose of Job The successful candidate will develop a strategic approach to how we use data and measure impact at the Trust. They will manage Trust reporting processes, improve our data quality and produce engaging stories and case studies. They will act as an internal business partner to support departments with data management, analysis, reporting, and evaluation for funders. The ideal candidate will use research and insight to drive decision making, support existing work and to target funding and to build partnerships. They will develop a comprehensive understanding of local need and policy priorities, to support our existing work and develop our provision into new areas. The candidate will bring proven leadership in a similar role and have a track record of generating valuable insights and measuring impact using different methods of data collection and analysis. They will be a strategic and creative thinker with proven experience of building effective relationships with colleagues and senior-level stakeholders – including developing capacity in others and upskilling across the Trust. They will identify opportunities to share and promote our work amongst other channels and networks, working with the communications and marketing teams to raise the profile of the work of the Trust and our impact. Responsibilities Data and Research Manage and quality assure all data across our Trust programmes, ensuring our reporting is accurate and demonstrates impact. Develop an understanding of our local communities and make strategic recommendations of where the Trust can make a further impact to bring significant change though our programmes. Create resources on local need and relevant research for internal use, development and learning Lead a culture shift, which places impact and insight at the centre of our decision making, leading robust reporting and tracking, supporting colleagues to monitor and evaluate impact against strategic aims. Work closely with the Communications Manager and Creative Lead to create accessible impact stats in engaging formats, producing soundbites, reports, case studies, multi-media and comms which can be shared externally. Work closely with the Data and Insight team at Brentford FC to provide key impact data to highlight the work of the Trust Coordinate and develop data administration and manage priorities for this. Restricted Funding and Grants Build a long-term strategy for restricted funding – identifying high-value (100k) restricted funding opportunities and leading on proposal development/coordination Build relationships with diverse funders, from local authorities to philanthropists, identifying grants and opportunities to support Trust financial security. Lead on annual Premier League Charitable Fund grant applications – including idea development, connection to the Trust strategy, proposal writing, and managing the internal application process Work with colleagues internally to upskill their grant writing skills, building capacity across the Trust to enable future growth and financial sustainability. Reporting Produce quarterly Performance Reports on Trust programmes for our Leadership team and Board of Trustees Work closely with managers and area leads to build up effective reporting tools and processes across all areas. Create engaging reports and presentations to be shared with all relevant stakeholders, from Trustees to contacts at Brentford Football Club. Support Senior staff with periodic Premier League reporting (every 6 months) Act as a business partner to support key functions, such as Safeguarding, EDI and HR, with periodic reporting responsibilities and provide data. Provide regular presentations and update to internal and external stakeholders Strategy Lead on the implementation of the 2025-28 Organisational Strategy Active tracking of progress towards strategic objectives and quarterly reporting to Trustees Support internal departments to embed strategic objectives into their work Key Internal Relationships Head of Social, Education and Health Hub Chief Executive Officer Communications Manager Head of Marketing and Partnerships Senior Managers (programme leads) Head of Finance Board of Trustees Key External Relationships Funders and potential funders Evaluators and research specialists Local Authorities and councils Brentford Football Club – Data and Insight Team Person Criteria Essential At least 3-4 years’ experience in a monitoring and evaluation or data analysis setting Excellent knowledge and significant experience of monitoring and evaluation, measuring outcomes and impact both qualitatively and quantitatively. Excellent analytical skills, with a diligent eye for detail. Experience of measuring, short, medium and long term impact and presenting this to stakeholders through, data, stories, stats and case studies The ability to ensure accuracy of data, ask intelligent questions and identify trends. Excellent stakeholder management, with an understanding of how to engage, enthuse, and influence a diverse range of partners with differing views and priorities. The ability to communicate well to a range of audiences, and using different mediums, with English oral and written skills to an excellent standard. Project management skills, working with multiple teams and individuals to meet a deadline and/or complete a task. Team player with excellent planning and organisational ability. Ability to work effectively under pressure, make sound judgement calls and solve problems. Work with a strategic approach, able to look at the bigger picture when making decisions. High level of computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office packages and monitoring and evaluation systems and databases Experience developing restricted funding proposals and securing high value (100k) grants Desirable An understanding of the challenges facing communities, especially in West London and have an idea for how community sports trusts can be part of the solution.
