Our client is a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of materials for plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and industrial applications.


Headquartered in the Midlands, the business is a wholly-owned subsidiary of a large international group.The business is committed to delivering high-quality products through efficient and sustainable processes and operates sone of the most modern and environmentally efficient plants of its type in all of Europe.


As part of its strategic development, the business has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement to manufacture and commercialise a ground-breaking ne technology plumbing product that will save lives. This technology has huge global potential, particularly in healthcare and hygiene-critical environments.

The initial focus will be on commercialising the product in the UK healthcare sector, before expanding into other markets and geographies.


THE ROLE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reporting directly into the Managing Director and Sales Director, the Commercial Development Manager will lead this brand-new division. This is a high-profile and entrepreneurial role with responsibility for developing, implementing and executing the commercial strategy for this new technology.


The successful candidate will establish market presence in the UK, initially within healthcare and adjacent industries, before leading international growth opportunities. They will build strong relationships with specifiers, architects, designers, contractors, maintenance companies and OEMs to drive awareness, adoption and sales.

Key Responsibilities


* Develop and implement a UK and international commercialisation strategy for the new technology, with healthcare as the initial priority sector.
* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including healthcare providers, specifiers, designers, architects, contractors, maintenance companies and OEMs.
* Drive market awareness, positioning the product as the leading solution for infection control in sinks.
* Identify and secure pilot projects, trials and partnerships in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
* Develop strategic plans for international growth, assessing key markets and routes to entry.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders across the business and Group to align product, marketing, supply chain and operational readiness.
* Provide customer and market feedback to inform product development and continuous improvement.
* Negotiate commercial agreements and long-term supply contracts with partners and customers.
* Represent the business and the technology at trade shows, industry events and with professional bodies.
* Help design and deliver ambitious sales and revenue growth targets.


Skills and Competencies Required


* 10+ years sales leadership experience in the construction products or healthcare technology sectors, with a demonstrable track record of growing businesses selling into a similar customer base (specifiers, designers, architects, contractors, maintenance companies and OEMs).
* Strong knowledge of the healthcare market and procurement processes.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for specified construction products
* Skilled relationship builder with the ability to influence specifiers, designers, contractors and other decision-makers.
* International market development experience desirable selling directly or through distribution.
* Strong financial acumen with the ability to structure and negotiate commercial agreements.
* Entrepreneurial, innovative and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a start-up style division within a larger business.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the credibility to engage at senior levels.
* A natural self-starter with a high degree of personal drive, energy and accountability.
