The Role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will:
* Provide strategic, commercially‑focused legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters across multiple business units.
* Support major transactions including private M&A, joint ventures, business and asset transfers, and large‑scale commercial arrangements.
* Work closely with senior legal leaders to identify, escalate and manage material legal risks.
* Build strong cross‑functional relationships and contribute to senior‑level committees and project groups.
* Maintain accurate matter records to support governance, reporting and continuous improvement.
* Lead engagement with external legal advisers—managing fees, assessing performance and ensuring value for money.
* Keep ahead of legal and regulatory developments, particularly within healthcare, and communicate their implications clearly.
* Contribute to the development of templates, guidance, internal knowledge resources and best‑practice processes.
* Support ongoing legal risk management across the wider organisation.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Significant experience advising on complex corporate transactions, including private M&A and commercial agreements.
* A solid understanding of healthcare regulation—or the ability to get to grips with it quickly.
* Senior‑level in‑house experience, with the confidence to influence and challenge leadership stakeholders.
* Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues.
* Strong judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to balance competing considerations.
* A collaborative, calm and solutions‑focused working style.
