Are you a Building Control professional with operational and strategic management experience and great business acumen? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Control Manager to join our team.
Leading on the delivery of the Building Control service, you will take responsibility for the implementation, maintenance and continued improvement of the Council's Quality Management System, ensuring full compliance with Operational Standards Rules and acting as the primary liaison with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).
You will also manage the team, supporting staff development, providing guidance and coaching and managing performance, attendance and disciplinary issues.
You will identify and proactively manage risks, including compliance with Building Regulations, dangerous structures, non-conformance cases and out of hours inspections, and provide expert guidance on complex and high-risk Building Control cases.
With proven Building Control management experience, at both a strategic and operational level, you will have the ability to inspire others, be commercially aware, have excellent communication and negotiation skills and have a passion for being at the forefront of change.
Registered with the (BSR) as a Registered Building Inspector and Technical Manager at minimum Class 4 (2F), you will have extensive knowledge of Building Control legislation, together with appropriate qualifications.
