Accounts Assistant Location: Sbarc | Spark, Maindy Road, Cardiff, CF24 4HQ Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 1 Months Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week Pay Rate: £14.13 Per Hour Job Ref: OR18766 Job Responsibilities Work with the Accountant and Finance Business Partner to manage financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls. Help prepare revenue budget estimates and close accounts monthly and quarterly. Monitor expenses and prepare grant claims and statistical returns. Manage income billing, track payments, and oversee cash flow processes. Oversee purchase requisitions, PO generation, and invoice processing. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of general ledger transactions. Manage banking arrangements, including reconciliations and cash flow forecasting. Assist with VAT account reconciliations and monthly VAT returns. Contribute to improving financial processes and systems. Support equality of opportunity and comply with health and safety legislation. Person Specifications Must Have AAT Level 2 or equivalent in accounting with ongoing professional development. Experience and understanding of accounting functions. Technical competence and computer skills, including Word and Excel. Ability to produce high-quality work and maintain good working papers. Self-motivation and willingness to learn. Good time management and interpersonal skills. Commitment to team work and equal opportunity policies. Nice to Have Knowledge of Local Government or Public Sector Finance. Experience in project or team environments. Ability to communicate in Welsh or willingness to learn. Full and valid driving license.
