We are seeking to recruit a Public Health Officer to join our supportive and high achieving public health team at North Yorkshire Council. The post will be part of the health protection function within the public health team.
The Role
The public health team promotes and protects the health of the population living in England’s largest county. Our complex health and social care economy provides a wide range of partners to influence and work with.
The Public Health Officer will work on a broad portfolio within Health Protection. The areas of work may include Sexual Health, Vaccinations and Immunisations, Screening, Seasonal Health, Climate Change, Outbreak Management, and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC). The postholder will support the maintenance of the assurance function around Health Protection within the local authority, whilst having the opportunity to develop and shape work, support commissioning and contracting, and working with external stakeholders.
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and experienced public health professional with strong skills around pragmatic thinking, partnership working skills and influencing in multi-agency settings, with an understanding of local public health and health protection.
