A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Account Manager to join one of the UK’s leading distributors of industrial automation and control products. You’ll be joining a growing UK team of over 250 colleagues, all working together to support customers across manufacturing, engineering, OEM, and system integration environments.
About the Role
Covering the Coventry and Birmingham region, you will manage and develop an established territory with around 70 active accounts, generating approximately £2M in annual spend. You’ll work with customers ranging from SMEs to major blue‑chip organisations, positioning technically beneficial and commercially attractive automation and control solutions.
This is a home‑based role with customer visits expected around four days per week, supported by a highly capable internal sales team and industry‑leading product specialists.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow an existing customer base across your territory
* Identify new business opportunities through networking, lead follow‑up, and market awareness
* Position automation, control, safety, and electrical solutions that add real value to customers
* Develop long‑term relationships with stakeholders at all levels
* Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver excellent customer service
* Work towards ambitious sales targets with autonomy and accountability
* Act as a trusted advisor, demonstrating integrity and professionalism
