Job Overview
Bangor University’s Student Experience team is seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to support the delivery of a high‑quality student experience across the University. This is a full‑time permanent position, 36.25 hours per week primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as required.
The role will involve providing administrative support for student events and activities, managing records, systems, and databases, and coordinating operational tasks to enhance the student experience.
Preferred candidate has A Level, AS or NVQ Level 4 and ability to plan activities that deliver required outcomes within prescribed timescales and within budget. Welsh language communication essential. Remote work option available under Dynamic Working framework; part‑time or job share possible.
Responsibilities
* Draft and schedule student communications across email, intranet, social media and digital signage.
* Draft student communications from information provided by senior managers.
* Maintain and update designated student facing web content, including for the Helpdesk.
* Monitor communication analytics to support improvement.
* Coordinate planning and delivery of student‑facing events, working with other Professional Services and Academic Schools, including logistics and promotion.
* Administer Student Internship Opportunities, promoting the scheme, recruiting and providing a standard induction.
* Support risk assessments and event safety planning with relevant services.
* Support promotion and delivery of institutional surveys (e.g., NSS, PTES).
* Draft materials to encourage student engagement in surveys and events.
* Provide other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by line management.
Core Responsibilities (Common to all G6 roles)
* Provide efficient administration for processes, events or services.
* Maintain accurate records and databases, coordinate operational tasks.
* Act as point of contact for G4/5 staff, guiding workloads and escalating complex issues.
Qualifications
Essential: Educated to A Level or NVQ Level 4 in a relevant subject area.
Desirable: Degree level or equivalent; ECDL certificate.
Experience/Knowledge
* Excellent understanding of the student journey and experience in Higher Education.
* Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
* Experience producing engaging and accessible content for students.
* Experience organising events.
Skills/Abilities
* Ability to plan activities that deliver required outcomes within timescales and budget.
* Excellent written and spoken communication, including presentations.
* Excellent team working and collaboration skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Proficient use of Microsoft IT applications and social media tools.
* Ability to speak Welsh fluently; essential for the post.
