Job Description The Governance Manager role is an 18 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
Job Purpose
The Governance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the governance framework within a global Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) rollout programme. This role will lead the governance of strategic delivery partners, including Systems Integrators (SIs) and Business Integrator (BI) providers, ensuring that all partner engagement adheres to agreed policies, processes, and compliance requirements.
The role will manage two direct reports, one responsible for vendor management and the other for service transition and hypercare, ensuring effective oversight of both contractual and operational partner relationships. Key responsibilities include access and role management, licence management, GDPR compliance, financial management (including Azure cost control), and oversight of change requests between the programme and the SI.
Responsibilities
Lead and maintain the overall governance framework for third-party vendors supporting the D365 programme, including SI and BI partners.
Manage two direct reports responsible for vendor relationship oversight and service transition/hypercare.
Ensure robust access and role management practices are in place for all partners, in line with internal policies and data security requirements.
Oversee licence management processes for all D365 environments and associated platforms, ensuring correct allocation and optimisation of licences.
Drive GDPR compliance across all partner activities and ensure data handling is in accordance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Manage financial governance activities, including budget tracking, forecasting, invoice validation, and financial reporting relating to third-party delivery.
Lead Azure cost management reporting and optimisation activities, working closely with infrastructure and finance teams to maintain financial transparency and control.
Act as the primary point of governance for all change requests between the programme and the SI, ensuring they are properly recorded, evaluated, approved, and implemented in accordance with agreed change control processes.
Act as a central point of coordination for partner-related governance queries, risks, and escalations.
Contribute to programme-level reporting and governance boards, providing insights, risks, and performance updates on partner delivery and compliance.
Ensure seamless service transition into business-as-usual (BAU) support, including clear roles, responsibilities, and handover of service documentation.
Maintain and evolve governance processes and tooling as the programme scales through deployment and into live operation.
Qualifications Essential
Proven experience in governance, compliance, or IT delivery oversight within large-scale technology programmes, ideally involving D365 or equivalent platforms.
Strong understanding of vendor management, contract oversight, and third-party engagement governance.
Experience managing structured change control processes with third-party vendors, particularly Systems Integrators.
Experience with role-based access control (RBAC), licence management, and identity governance across enterprise platforms.
Solid understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements in a global context.
Hands-on experience with financial governance, including budget tracking, Azure cost reporting, and service chargebacks.
Experience working in a structured programme or PMO environment with high levels of cross-functional engagement.
Proven ability to manage and lead small teams and work collaboratively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 programmes.
Familiarity with Azure licensing and Microsoft enterprise licensing models.
Knowledge of ITIL service management and service transition processes.
Prior experience in global rollouts or working across multi-region governance structures.
