The Headteacher and Governors would like to appoint a qualified Forest School Leader or aspiring Forest School Leader with a background in primary education.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of staff where passion for high-quality education and the outdoors is an essential part of our curriculum; promoting a physical and healthy mind and body. The ideal candidate will have a love for the outdoors and will have a passion for helping children fall in love with the natural world while gaining confidence in themselves and their abilities. The role will involve leading classes of children in outdoor learning activities on site within our own forest school; as well as developing and embedding outdoor learning throughout the whole school curriculum promoting environmental education.

Person specification: Skills Required
Essential
· Plan, prepare and deliver purposeful and productive outdoor activities for children.
· Desire to improve oneself and build upon an established reputation.
· Forest School Outdoor First Aid trained or First Aid training.
· Select and use a range of different resources and teaching styles, appropriate to the outdoor learning experience.
· Promote positive management of behaviour in the Forest School environment, establish routines and boundaries to ensure the safety of the children.
· Be flexible and including the changing environment when working with schools etc.
Desirable:
* Level 3 Forest School Leader or equivalent
* Other outdoor qualifications to support the delivery of Forest School.
* Previous experience of delivering outdoor education provision, preferable in an educational setting.
* A positive approach to continuous professional development
* Experience of growing the breadth & depth of outdoor learning within the national curriculum
* Work independently and effectively with large groups of children at a time.
Transferable skills: Any outdoor pursuits qualifications, experience of working with children (coaching, scouts), EYFS level 3 or higher, Forest School Leader/ Assistant, ex-forces personnel.
