The mission of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We empower girls to be confident in themselves, prepared for their futures, and ready to take their place in the world. The Summer Camp Program Facilitator delivers high-quality programming and ensures a safe, engaging, and positive experience for all participants, ages 5-16. Facilitators are responsible for leading activities, ensuring program outcomes, managing behavior, maintaining a trauma-informed environment, and upholding the Girls Inc. mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
Program Execution & Student Engagement
* Facilitate structured programming with a strong focus on achieving program outcomes and student development.
* Prepare for and implement activities with energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, ensuring a positive and engaging experience.
* Maintain a trauma-informed approach when preparing and managing the program space.
* Serve as a mentor and role model, demonstrating leadership and inclusivity.
* Consistently follow Girls Inc. policies and procedures regarding incident response, behavior management, conflict resolution, and mandated reporting.
* Address challenges proactively and professionally, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
* Uphold confidentiality while preserving the dignity and respect of all participants.
* Adapt to environmental changes and problem-solve in real time.
* Stakeholder Communication & Teamwork
* Maintain open and professional communication with families, community partners, and key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with fellow staff, embodying teamwork and adaptability to ensure a smooth camp experience.
* Participate in debriefs and ongoing training, applying feedback to enhance programming.
* Be punctual and present for all scheduled shifts and training.
* Maintain an upbeat, positive attitude while upholding professional conduct at all times.
* Assist in setting up and maintaining the program environment in alignment with trauma-informed principles.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed principles and the ability to create a safe, supportive environment for participants.
* Passion for youth development and gender equity, with a commitment to the Girls Inc. mission.
* Strong ability to lead, coach, and mentor students while fostering a supportive learning environment.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and community partners.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth in structured programs, camps, or educational settings.
* Prior experience in behavior management and conflict resolution is highly preferred.
* Availability for training (May 26 – May 30), summer camp (June 2–July 3), and camp wrap-up (July 7).
