About the role
The Role
• Deliver & collect plant to/from customers, ensuring accurate paperwork completion (obtaining signatures, noting damages, fuel levels, plant numbers) and demonstrating equipment
• Train existing HGV Drivers in safe loading and unloading of vehicles; training provided by RoSPA, with NPORS qualification in loading/unloading
• Conduct basic vehicle maintenance and ensure roadworthiness through daily checks as per Group procedures
• Verify plant against hire desk paperwork prior to delivery
• Safely load/unload all plant and equipment onto/from GAP vehicles using strapping, chaining, and roping techniques
• Tag damaged machines upon return and organize them within the depot yard/workshop
• Use digital Tachos where applicable and download data in compliance with legislation
• Follow customer health & safety rules on site
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Depot Manager
About You
Applicants should demonstrate:
* Significant experience in HGV driving, including loading, delivering, and collecting heavy plant equipment from customer sites
* Class 2 driving license, Driver CPC (minimum 35 hours), and valid Digital Tachograph card
* Recent experience towing trailers
* Understanding of health & safety protocols and adherence to workplace safety guidelines
* Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
