Job Description
Do you enjoy working in safety-critical industries? Do you like delivering solutions to technically complex problems? Join us as a Senior / Principal Structural Integrity Safety Case Engineer and play a vital role in assessing risks for our nuclear clients to help realize our low carbon energy ambitions, shaping a better future for our planet and its people. This is a great opportunity to join one of the strongest structural integrity safety case capabilities in the industry, working across all key clients.
Your purpose:
On a typical day, you might lead a team to produce engineering substantiation or author a complex safety case, supporting critical decision-making in the design, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Alternatively, you could influence the client’s strategic direction regarding structural integrity challenges for new build designs or existing assets, network to develop the business pipeline, or deliver technical presentations to regulators.
This role offers the chance to work with diverse clients, including nuclear generation (Advanced Gas Cooled Reactors, Sizewell B), Rolls Royce Pressurized Water Reactors, nuclear new builds like Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, as well as innovative players from fusion and SMR markets. You should be eager to lead project delivery, solve complex technical problems, and present solutions to stakeholders, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic perspective.
You will also contribute to and learn from the wider technical community within AtkinsRéalis, leveraging global expertise to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers to support growth, enhance project delivery, and develop your leadership skills.
