Senior Mortgage Administrator (City of London) Senior Mortgage Administrator Financial Services – Mortgages & Protection GBP38,000 – GBP45,000 (dependent on experience and seniority) 28 days’ holiday (including Bank Holidays) Start date: 4–8 weeks The Role We are seeking a strong, experienced Senior Mortgage Administrator who is already operating at a senior level, and who is comfortable exercising autonomy, judgement, and accountability within a highly specialist brokerage environment. Working closely with the Company Director and the firm’s most senior brokers, this is a substantive, hands-on role with full end-to-end ownership of mortgage and protection cases from application through to completion. The role involves regular exposure to complex income structures, expatriate cases, later life lending (including equity release), and business and commercial lending. This position is suited to a proven professional who is confident managing complex cases independently, maintaining exceptionally high standards, and acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, lenders, and professional counterparts. Following a structured onboarding period, hybrid working will be considered, with an expectation of 2–3 days per week in the office. Key Responsibilities Take full ownership of mortgage and protection cases, from application through to offer and completion Deliver a consistently high-quality client experience across all interactions Assess, verify, and validate client financial documentation with absolute accuracy and regulatory awareness Forensically review bank statements and financial information to assess affordability, commitments, and risk Identify, assess, and mitigate lending and broker risk, ensuring robust, well-presented submissions to lenders Maintain strong working knowledge of lender criteria across residential and specialist markets Key mortgage and protection applications accurately, with zero tolerance for errors Build and maintain effective working relationships with lenders, underwriters, solicitors, and clients Liaise closely with senior brokers on complex case strategy where required Manage multiple cases concurrently, prioritising workload and meeting deadlines Maintain clear, detailed case notes on the firm’s CRM system Support and uphold internal processes, compliance standards, and service-level KPIs Produce case summaries, reports, and management information where required Support and mentor junior administrators where appropriate Provide general administrative support within a small, high-performing team Experience & Technical Capability Proven experience in a senior mortgage administration or mortgage paraplanning role (essential) Strong understanding of the end-to-end mortgage and protection process Experience handling complex cases, including non-standard income and specialist lending Confident user of CRM systems and online lender portals Strong Excel and spreadsheet capability High level of numeracy and attention to detail Comfortable operating within a regulated financial services environment Personal Attributes Already operating confidently at a senior and experienced level Highly organised, proactive, and self-directed Exceptionally high personal and professional standards Accountable, reliable, and outcomes-focused Process-driven with meticulous attention to detail Calm, measured, and effective under pressure Clear, confident, and professional communicator Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and emotional intelligence
