We sell, rent, and service crushers, screens, shredders, grinders, compactors, conveyors, and other equipment for industries such as recycling, sand and gravel, limestone quarries, coal mines, asphalt, concrete, demolition, topsoil, mulch, and compost. We also offer hammers, shears, grapples, and multi‑processors for material sizing and reduction.
Position Overview
Fleet Operations Manager – Birmingham, Alabama (full‑time, on‑site)
The Fleet Operations Manager will oversee daily operations of our sales/rental fleet, ensure proper maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment, manage a team of sales supervisors and operators, and develop strategies to optimize fleet efficiency. The role includes analyzing operational data, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
* Manage daily fleet operations, including scheduling and dispatch.
* Ensure completion of maintenance and repair for all vehicles and equipment.
* Lead a team of supervisors and operators, providing coaching and performance feedback.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency and reduce operating costs.
* Analyze operational data to support data‑driven decision making.
* Coordinate logistics, including routing, mileage tracking, and delivery schedules.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Proven supervisory experience managing teams.
* Expertise in fleet operations or fleet management.
* Strong background in operations management with maintenance and repair focus.
* Analytical skills for data‑driven decision making.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
* Experience in the material handling or production machinery industry is a plus.
* Experience managing oversized trucks or drivers.
* Knowledge of cross‑state permit requirements is a plus.
* Ability to coordinate sales and rentals of heavy machinery, including recording rental return damages, overtime, and repairs.
* Skill in gathering and organizing equipment delivery/return reports and customer insurance documentation.
