Role Purpose The Organic Search Senior Partner will lead SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) at Open Partners. This is a senior leadership role, blending technical SEO, content strategy, and digital PR with pioneering GEO frameworks that optimise visibility in AI-driven search environments. As a leader of our Search product, you’ll integrate SEO and GEO with Paid Search, working closely with our Paid Search Senior Partner, to deliver smarter, faster, better outcomes for our clients. You’ll act as both strategist and product owner — shaping the future of search, driving innovation, and influencing at C-suite level. Role Responsibilities Product & Commercial Ownership – Define, evolve, and scale SEO/GEO as a differentiated Open Partners product, including proposition design, innovation, and profitability. Holistic SEO Leadership – Oversee technical SEO, content strategy, and digital PR/link acquisition, ensuring all pillars work in concert to deliver measurable outcomes. GEO Innovation – Build frameworks for optimising visibility in generative search results (e.g. Google Ai Mode, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity) and lead a proactive test-and-learn roadmap. Holistic Search Collaboration – Partner with the Paid Search Senior Partner to develop and deliver integrated Search strategies and products, maximising performance across the full Search ecosystem. Client Leadership – Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, simplifying complexity into compelling narratives and building board-level confidence. Business Growth – Contribute to agency growth by creating compelling Organic Search and GEO proposals for new business pitches, as well as identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing clients. Integration – Collaborate with product leaders to deliver joined-up strategies. Supplier Partnerships –Build progressive relationships with relevant platforms to secure access to innovation. Team Leadership – Inspire and retain talent, embedding clear development pathways and succession planning. Thought Leadership – Represent Open Partners at industry events and through publications, positioning the agency as a leader in SEO, GEO, and holistic search. Your KPIs / Outputs Delivery of client performance outcomes across SEO, GEO, and integrated Search (in collaboration with Paid Search). Execution of a product development and innovation roadmap. Retention and development of Organic Search talent. Commercial growth from SEO, GEO, and integrated Search services. Contract basis : Permanent To Be Successful In This Role 10 years of organic / SEO leadership experience, with proven success across technical, content, and digital PR. Strategic thinker able to translate complex search change into commercial impact. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire teams and build trusted client relationships. Commercially minded, with experience owning products or propositions. Confident storyteller and advisor at C-suite level. Must Have Skills & Experience required: Deep expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and digital PR/authority building. Proven ability to deliver integrated SEO strategies at scale, including international markets. Knowledge of structured data, semantic search, and entity optimisation. Early experience with GEO and awareness of AI-driven search platforms. Experience embedding AI and automation into SEO workflows with governance. Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills. Desirable Google Analytics qualifications and SEO certifications. Experience in product ownership and business development. Track record of thought leadership (speaking, publishing).
