The Opportunity:
NCC Group are looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our Optimisation Programme. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic candidate with both a functional and technical understanding of IT systems. The IT Business Analyst will be heavily involved in our projects and could be responsible for the full range of IT business analysis activities.
Using previous expertise, the successful candidate will quickly assimilate our current organisational situation, business processes and supporting applications in order to play a key role in the design and delivery of solutions. In doing so the successful candidate will be a key player in major optimisation projects with multiple departments and stakeholders.
As part of the Optimisation Programme you will ensure projects are delivered in line with the company’s development, change framework and standards.
Responsibilities:
* Analyse business needs and requirements to understand the business impact of changes in IT systems.
* Design, test, and implement solutions that meet business needs and align with IT strategy.
* Recommend system and process changes, and work with IT and business stakeholders to implement these changes.
* Document and evaluate existing business processes and workflows.
* Create detailed business analysis documents, including project plans, business requirements documents, and functional specifications.
* Manage and prioritize IT-related projects based on business needs.
* Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure the functionality of system solutions.
* Facilitate training and provide support to business users on new systems or processes.
* Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
* Investigate business systems, taking a holistic view of the situation including examining elements of the organisation structures, business processes and IT systems.
* Evaluate actions to improve the operation of business systems.
* Lead requirements gathering sessions, proactively drawing out requirements with stakeholders from across NCC Group, and translating these into requirements definition documentation, including use cases, user stories and functional specifications.
* Identify and resolve problems which may impact projects by monitoring progress and project status. Escalates important issues to senior project leadership ensuring that decisions can be made promptly.
* Play a prominent role in the transition from the project phase to business as usual, ensuring a seamless shift in support and change management.
* Participate in initiatives to innovate and evangelise new and improved processes across the business. You must be recognised as a go-to expert able to articulate benefits clearly and concisely.
* Reach out to ensure formal and informal relationships, and very pro-active communications are developed and maintained.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience in an IT Business Analyst role
* BCS certification or equivalent
* Experience of working in programmes looking to rationalise/ optimise applications across an enterprise to drive out cost savings and efficiencies
* Demonstrable experience of covering the complete project life-cycle, in a structured environment (both agile and waterfall)
* Use of standard modelling techniques
* Previous experience of working across multi-state locations and time zones
* Experience of working in a regulated environment
* Analytical skills, critical thinking and problem solving
* Attention to detail
* Proficient with Microsoft Word tools including Word, Excel and Visio
