Overview
An occupational therapist is sought to join our team providing a therapy service across Queens and King George Hospitals. The successful candidate will rotate on a 6 monthly basis across various medical specialties, care of the elderly, surgical, orthopaedic, stroke and neurological settings. Ongoing development will be supported with access to a well established preceptorship programme and the therapy service ensures ongoing training.
Responsibilities
* Perform occupational therapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical, cognitive and psychological/mental health conditions.
* Provide a diagnosis of functional status and develop and deliver an individualised treatment plan.
* Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, with access to direct supervision. Supervision includes formal training, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review.
* Access to advice and supervision from a senior occupational therapist as required; clinical work is routinely evaluated.
Essential criteria
* Degree/ Diploma in Occupational Therapy and H.C.P.C. Registration
* Broad clinical experience as a student or Band 5
* Time management skills

All new staff appointed to posts at the Trust will be subject to a 6 month probationary period.
We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs and operate from two main sites – King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford.
