What you'll do As a Trade Planner at Sainsbury's, you will play a critical role in orchestrating the cross-functional development and execution of a bold Trading Plan that drives customer engagement and showcases our value and assortment credentials. Working closely with a broad group of stakeholders across Sainsbury's and Argos, you will lead on events, drive trade response, and ensure that the right strategies are implemented to maximise our potential across all our brands and channels. Your responsibilities will include co-ordinating and visualising an integrated plan, facilitating discussions with relevant stakeholders, mapping out processes and critical paths, collaborating with various functions to define effective plans and deliver trading initiatives, and continuously reviewing and adapting the plan for both in-year trading and future opportunities. Your strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams will enable you to influence outcomes, drive alignment, and deliver customer value and business outcomes at a fast pace. Additionally, you will contribute to creating an inclusive culture and actively participate in sharing best practises within the trade planning community. Who you are Experience and working knowledge of multi-channel retailing across a number of commercial, analytical and operational disciplines such as Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Retail and Supply Chain Strong understanding of the corporate strategy, goals and customer insights Ability to think both strategically and tactically, supporting the input of key learnings through the trade planning process Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills – you know how to work through ambiguity and evolving priorities at pace How to work effectively with a range of cross-functional teams, ensuring ARCI’s are clear and expectations understood How to facilitate or lead discussions, utilising a range of coaching, presentation or communication styles to influence clearly aligned outcomes and ensure clear actions are committed to Highly competent in developing at pace a broad range of engaging, relevant content or analysis, utilising a variety of tools including to but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Comfortable building new relationships and working collaboratively, whilst effectively influencing and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders across all levels
