About Special Needs Care:
Our son is 15 years old and has complex special needs and requires a Saturday 2-1 Personal Assistant to work along side his current carer.
Saturday 10am - 9pm (10.5 hrs) DAY
Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a reliable, responsible, kind, caring and fun Carer for our son that can provide supervision, stimulation and meet his medical and complex needs.
Role will involve supervising, play and providing a stimulating environment, being his buddy as well as days out on walks, parks, play gyms, farms etc.
Current carer employed and you will be required to work as a team together to meet child's needs.
Feeding at meal times (Peg fed) personal care will includes nappy changing, bathing and dressing.
Our son has various medical needs which will require observation and action when required. (Full training provided)
You may be asked to take the child out in his wheel chair adapted vehicle so a confident driver preferred but not essential.
Full training will be provided and funded by the employer so all our sons needs can be met, at hourly rate .
Hours are;
Saturdays 10am - 9pm DAYS
Rate of pay £13.51 p/h
5.6 weeks Annual leave
Carers Insurance paid for by employer
Contract provided
4 Weekly pay

Must be able to get to location LN4 as limited bus service Which does not serve hours of employment
Experienced preferred of at least 1 year in a care setting

Qualification's provided by employer:
Paediatric First Aid training (2 day course)
Moving & Handling Training
Medication Administration
Safeguarding
Training on ours sons medical needs
All training must be completed within the first month of employment or before commencing employment and will be funded by the employer. Medical training will be provided by NHS Nurse trainer. All training will be paid for by employer including hours required to complete training at the hourly rate of £13.51 p/h
Advanced DBS will be undertaken by employer Prior to commencing work.
Experience with special needs children or Adults preferred but not essential. More focus is placed on finding the right person who can engage with our son and meet his special needs and engage with him.
You Should be very patient, fun, kind, friendly and caring in nature and enjoy working with a child with Special needs in the family home and in the community. Be able to work alongsideanother carer to offer the best environment and standard of care.
The successful applicant must be reliable and committed to the role providing care to a high standard both medically and physically.
Full training on medical care will be given by nursing team
An advanced DBS Check will be required and paid for by the employer.
