Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced CAD Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-growing engineering team at the forefront of advanced charging solutions for the commercial transport sector. Based in, Birmingham, this is a fantastic opportunity to help develop cutting-edge technology that supports the shift to low-carbon transport.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical and packaging design of innovative electrical systems. You’ll convert electrical schematics into detailed manufacturing information, support prototype development, and ensure compliance with UK and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop mechanical assemblies for energy systems, including enclosures, racks, thermal and structural components
* Interpret electrical schematics and integrate mechanical solutions accordingly
* Conduct thermal and structural simulations to validate your designs
* Maintain BOMs, CAD models, and detailed engineering drawings
* Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality outcomes
* Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and FMEAs
* Support prototype assembly, testing and documentation across the full product lifecycle
