MFL Language Teaching Assistant: Now Hiring!
Horizon Teachers are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and organized Language Assistant to support students in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) across all key stages at a top secondary school in Croydon. The role involves delivering and evaluating small group or one-to-one interventions, helping students access the curriculum, and collaborating with teaching staff to implement support strategies. Additional duties include administrative support, preparing classroom displays, and assisting with exam preparations.
Applicants must be fluent in either French or Spanish, with at least conversational ability in the other. Patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students are essential. Experience in leading MFL activities and using behaviour management strategies is required.
Candidates should have strong IT skills, excellent spoken and written English, and a TA qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3). An understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs is also important.
Key Responsibilities:
1. MFL Support: Deliver small group or one-to-one interventions in French or Spanish to support students across all key stages.
2. Collaboration & Strategy Implementation: Work closely with teaching staff to support students' academic progress and help them achieve their potential.
3. Administrative & Classroom Support: Assist with classroom displays, exam preparation, and administrative tasks to streamline teaching processes.
4. Behaviour Management & Relationship Building: Use effective behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment and build constructive relationships with students.
