We are recruiting for a number of Drainage Engineers to work in 2 person teams, covering the whole of Sussex on the Southern Water contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a new career with us at Lanes Group.

Position: Van Pack Drainage Engineer
Location: Hailsham Depot (Hailsham, East Sussex) – once competent you will work from door to door
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week
Salary: £30,500 per annum

About The Role
Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.
Responsibilities
* Travelling to residential sites in a van and operating a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Delivering good customer service.
* Maintain good health & safety practices while carrying out works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups) protecting staff, the public and other road users.
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions with appropriate PPE and lone worker systems.
* Assess site access and working conditions to manage risk.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Inspect tools, equipment and plant before/after use; report defects.
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of Lanes Group policies and responsibilities.
* Other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard working, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience with High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. You must have a full UK drivers licence.
