An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Nuclear Medicine Department as a DXA Health Care Support Worker.

The post holder will be a key member of the DXA team, providing essential technical and administrative support to the delivery of bone density scanning services on the mobile DXA unit and, occasionally, within the DXA and Imaging sections at Singleton Hospital. This includes preparing patients for their appointments, ensuring adherence to examination preparation requirements, assisting radiographers during scanning, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can work effectively as part of a small, supportive team and manage their workload efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, strong administrative and IT skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Main duties of the job

They will communicate effectively and with compassion, particularly when supporting patients who may be anxious, in pain, or have limited mobility.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting patient care and experience throughout their DXA appointment.

Preparing the scanning area and assisting operators during examinations.
