Room Leader - Baby Room - Barnet (N12)
Term Time Only, Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am - 4pm, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a confident and experienced Room Leader to join a school adjacent Nursery in Barnet (N12) or an experienced nursery practitioner ready to step up and take charge of a team of 2 in a busy baby room.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Early Years professional ready to take the next step in their career and lead a room, supporting both children and staff in a nurturing, child-centred environment.
Key Requirements for this Room Leader role:
* CACHE Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Early Years/Childcare (essential)
* Proven experience working within a nursery or early years setting
* Previous experience leading a room or supporting room leadership (desirable)
About this Room Leader Role:
As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for:
* Leading the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and well‑organised environment
* Supporting and guiding a small team of practitioners, promoting positive teamwork and consistency
* Planning and delivering engaging, age‑appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
* Monitoring children’s progress through observations, assessments, and learning journeys
* Acting as a key person, building strong and professional relationships with children and their families
* Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met
* Maintaining high standards of care, learning, and behaviour management across the room
What We’re Looking For in a Room Leader:
* Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
* Confident leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team
* Experience with planning, assessment, and tracking children’s progress
* A proactive, organised, and reliable approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for early years education and child development
