Overview
Join as the Territory Sales Manager - North East with Nestlé Purina. Field-based role covering North East locations including Carlisle, Stockton-on-Tees, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Edinburgh. Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience, plus car, potential bonus, and a benefits package.
Position is focused on blending key customer management with fast-paced new business development to contribute to ambitious growth plans within the Purina team.
What you will do
 * Drive new business and grow relationships with clinics and clinical groups; achieve best-in-class activation of NPD and brand initiatives within Purina accounts.
 * Convert veterinary practices within corporate clinics and clinical groups to stock PRO PLAN and PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets as a first-line option to achieve territory sales targets.
 * Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets and make recommendations for PRO PLAN and PPVD brands through effective account management and new business acquisition.
 * Achieve KPI targets for Strategic Plan focus areas, including NPD and in-clinic initiatives.
 * Manage customer interactions with an optimized visit strategy (routine visits, quarterly reviews, staff training, category relays, advocacy days).
 * Maintain high-level technical product knowledge to facilitate conversations with all levels of practice staff.
 * Deliver training tailored to practice requirements to achieve sales and recommendation objectives.
 * Understand customer strategy and monitor competitor activity; relay insights internally to inform channel business planning.
 * Develop and implement jointly agreed Customer Business Plans to deliver targets in line with Channel strategy and Key Sales Fundamentals execution.

You should be self-driven, able to win new business, and adapt your communication style to a broad range of decision makers. Resilience and ability to influence both internally and externally are key.
Ideal skills and experience include:
 * Proactive with commercial awareness and excellent numeracy skills
 * Business development experience essential
 * Veterinary channel experience is beneficial
 * Knowledge of companion animals or the pet industry is beneficial
 * High proficiency in Excel and IT literacy; ability to analyse insightful information
 * Organised with strong planning and prioritisation abilities
 * Ability to travel within the designated geographical territory
