Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior IT Engineer to join our growing IT services team. This junior position is ideal for someone with a passion for technology, a strong desire to learn, and a customer-focused attitude. You will provide first-line support to end-users, assist in maintaining IT infrastructure, and contribute to the delivery of internal and client-facing IT projects.
This role requires a mix of technical expertise, customer service orientation, and strong project coordination skills.
Duties
* IT Support
· Provide first-line technical support to users via phone, email, and in-person.
· Manage SLAs and communication across all technical tickets.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving networks, servers, cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure), EUDs and email.
· Collaborate with the helpdesk team to ensure timely resolution of technical problems.
Project Assistance
· Support the delivery of IT projects such as network upgrades, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity enhancements
· Assist with implementing security baselines, best practices, and compliance frameworks during onboarding.
· Assist in gathering requirements, testing solutions, and documenting project progress.
· Assist in coordinating with internal teams, external vendors and client stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
· Participate in rollout activities including user training and post-deployment support.
Systems & Infrastructure
· Monitor system performance and report anomalies.
· Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, and patching.
· Conduct routine and ad hoc health and security checks across customer environments.
· Monitor patch management and system updates for all managed devices.
· Identify and remediate risks or vulnerabilities in customer systems.
· Ensure endpoint protection, backup compliance, and MFA enforcement are consistently maintained.
Reporting & Documentation
· Produce regular and bespoke reports on:
o Endpoint patch status and software update compliance.
o Security threats, incidents, and remediation actions.
o Asset and device inventory health.
· Maintain and update support documentation and asset inventories.
Skills
* Essential
· Previous experience in a customer-facing IT support role (ideally within an MSP).
· Basic understanding of cloud, networking, operating systems, and IT security principles.
· Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and common business applications
· Familiarity with patch management systems, antivirus platforms, and vulnerability scanners.
· Knowledge of AV and EDR products
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in customer-facing contexts.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, ITIL).
· Exposure to compliance standards such as ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials.
· Experience with IT onboarding and client transition processes

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
