Health & Safety Manager
* Contract: 6-months temporary contract
* Pay Rate: £30-£35 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to join a key public sector team. The role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective operation of services and driving forward organisational changes. The focus will be on supporting housing-related services, with a transition of these services back into the council’s direct management on the horizon.
Day to Day of the role:
* Coordinating health and safety measures across housing-related services to minimise risk, ensure compliance with legislation, and promote best practice.
* Supporting the development of arrangements and practices that mainstream health and safety and encourage a positive, enabling culture.
* Researching, updating, reviewing, developing, communicating, publishing, and advising on plans, procedures, policy, strategies, and arrangements.
* Delivering training to ensure capable and competent health and safety practice is mainstreamed by managers and their teams.
* Undertaking investigations and audits and, where appropriate, leading on the delivery of appropriate follow-up actions.
* Providing advice to health and safety colleagues, employees, and managers, as well as working closely with trade unions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a health and safety professional, preferably within public sector housing services.
* Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to coordinate and promote health and safety measures effectively.
* Experience in developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
* Competence in delivering training and conducting investigations and audits.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including trade unions.
