Position: School Caretaker
Location: Bright Fields School, Retford, Nottinghamshire
Hours: Full-time (with occasional evenings/weekends)
Bright Fields School is a vibrant, nurturing SEN (Special Educational Needs) school dedicated to empowering young people with diverse needs to thrive. Our mission is simple: provide a safe, inspiring, and inclusive environment where every student can shine.
We are now seeking a reliable, hands-on, and proactive Caretaker to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive school community where your contribution truly matters.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Ensuring the school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained
• Carrying out minor repairs, basic maintenance, and decorating
• Supporting with setting up for school events and activities
• Overseeing contractors and monitoring site safety
• Opening/locking the premises and ensuring health and safety standards are met
• Someone practical and trustworthy with a “can-do” attitude
• Experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (preferred, but not essential)
• An understanding of health & safety procedures
• A commitment to creating a supportive environment for students with SEN
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
