Waking Night Residential Support Worker - Ruskin Mill College
This role is based in and around Nailsworth, Stroud, and Stonehouse.
40 hours per week
Salary: £29,308 - £30,736

An opportunity has become available to join Ruskin Mill College, as part of the committed team focusing on the holistic needs of the students. The students benefit from an extensive range of nutritional, therapeutic and medical support at each college that is reflected in the college sessions and in the residential provision.
This role can be both physically and emotionally demanding, and you must have the confidence/patience to adapt to the challenging behaviours that the young people can present.
A full UK driving license is essential.
The key duties of this role will include:
* The supervision and support of students in their residential settings with a range of domestic activities such as cooking, shopping, cleaning and laundry.
* The supervision of the students at night, including behaviour management, medication handling and carrying out household tasks when residents are sleeping.
* Completion of relevant paperwork is required.

* Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
* Be patient, caring, compassionate with a young person centred nature
* Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential settings
* Have emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in stressful situations
