Are you a skilled Engineer or Inspector? Or are you a Machinist or Fitter looking for a new challenge? We are working with a large logistics provider who is looking for an Inspector to join their team here in Yeovil. This role starts out temporary but is very likely to go into a permanent opportunity.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Inspect aircraft components, ground support equipment and raw material.
2. Support customer initiatives with suppliers and provide inspection / audit functions at suppliers or vendors premises through source inspections at the vendors premises.
3. Inspect products at goods receipt following customers inspection plans.
4. Raise Quality notifications for non-conforming product.
5. Re-inspect and re-life items which have expired current stock life limits.
6. Perform despatch inspections to customer or contractual requirements.
7. Perform departmental procedure reviews.
8. To use relevant inspection tools, software, drawings & models.
9. Support the resolving of Quality notifications.
10. Engage with customer and supplier representatives and the customers quality department.
11. Operate the customers SAP system (training can be given)
12. Checking inspection tooling is calibrated and instigating re-calibration if required.
