We have a Repair Workshop Technical Assistant position available in Exeter. This full-time role offers a salary of £26,000 per year plus excellent benefits.
About the role:
The Repair Workshop Technical Assistant will support asset repair activities, workflow processes, and technical inquiries at the Exeter Repair Workshop (RWS), ensuring efficient daily operations.
What you will be doing:
* Handling communication with suppliers and internal teams, prioritizing work based on demand.
* Coordinating with departments to manage risks related to assets out of service.
* Providing administrative support to maintain best practices.
* Issuing job packs and managing correspondence via the workshop mailbox.
* Understanding technical aspects to facilitate discussions with the craft team, suppliers, and clients.
* Engaging with suppliers on technical requirements, pricing, and deliveries.
* Supporting asset customization through the company's platform (MADE).
* Reporting to the Regional Repair Workshop Manager.
* Advising customers on repair versus replacement options and costs.
* Organizing workshop documentation to meet ISO, Health & Safety, and ATEX standards.
* Reviewing and updating workshop procedures annually.
* Managing statutory inspections and asset intake documentation.
* Participating in team meetings, recording minutes and actions.
* Managing PPE and tools procurement.
* Addressing supplier issues and raising vendor concern reports.
* Communicating repair process updates to customers.
What we are looking for:
* Experience in handling customer inquiries promptly.
* Proven office environment experience.
* Data analysis skills supporting RCA of failed assets.
* Experience with external suppliers and contractors.
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths, English, and another subject (or equivalent).
