An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practice nurse within our closely knit, friendly and hard-working team just outside the centre of Huddersfield. The holder of this post willbe responsible for a mixture of clinical and non-clinical duties as required. They will support and buildupon the services provided to the patients of The Junction Surgery. Individuals should be willing to undertake additional training to enhance their skills asappropriate. Individuals will have allAgenda for change Grade 5 requirements plus: The ability to manage their own workload, an awareness ofeffects of diseases on extended family and can show some consideration of thiswhen planning appointments and care. They should also have an awareness of social and mental health issues.
Main duties of the job
You will be familiar with all the day to day activities of a general practice nurse and be willing to go the extra mile when required. Home visits are often required, particularly during flu and Covid vaccination periods. You should be willing to share your experience and knowledge and be prepared to mentor students

We encourage lots of further development and provide placements for medical students, G P Registrars, and nursing students. Being a G P Training practice allows us to diversify our workforce to ensure a full range of healthcare professionals.
Job responsibilities
To provide all relevant duties pertinent to a general practice nurse within a busy general practice setting. May also include Flu / Covid 19 vaccinator sessions at the vaccination site.

Qualifications
* Candidate's will have the necessary skills as per the Agenda for Change Grade 5 or above and at least one certificate to diploma level in the following:
* Cervical cytology
* Family planning
* CHD
* Diabetes.
* Asthma
* COPD
* Wound care management.
* Tissue viability.
* Elderly care.
* Mental health.
Experience
* Candidates will have at least 1 years experience in a general practice setting, working within a nursing team and with vulnerable patients. Will be compliant in all mandatory learning modules (training will also be given)
* Awareness of Primary Care Networks, experience in audit.
