About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You’ll work in mainstream or specialist school settings, helping pupils access learning and thrive in a safe, inclusive environment.
Typical hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support tailored to individual learning needs
* Assist with classroom activities, lesson preparation, and resource organisation
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
* Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and communication where needed
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* Uphold safeguarding and confidentiality standards at all times

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
* Be unemployed or earning less than £25,000 per year
* Be aged 19 or over
* Be able to attend in-person training in Halifax
