2. Your New Role
As the new Bookkeeper/Accounts Technician, you will take ownership of day‑to‑day financial administration and play a key role in ensuring smooth accounting operations. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the finance inbox and iing post, ensuring queries are addressed promptly and professionally
2. Handling a portfolio of additional customers, including invoicing, debt management, payment allocation, reconciliation, and issuing updated account statements
3. Preparing month‑end invoicing and generating required month‑end reports
4. Processing all sales and purchase transactions through Xero
5. Regularly reconciling bank accounts to maintain accurate debtor and creditor listings
6. Producing weekly customer statements, supplier reports and cash flow updates
7. Processing payments, remittances and pro‑forma invoices in a timely manner
8. Maintaining and circulating the weekly cashflow forecast
9. Preparing quarterly VAT returns
10. Collating weekly and monthly timesheets, overtime and leave data to support payroll and agency worker payments
11. Generating management reports and KPI information and contributing analysis for internal review and discussion
3. What You’ll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
12. Strong bookkeeping or accounts technician experience
13. Confidence working with accounting software (experience with Xero is highly desirable)
14. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple finance tasks simultaneously
15. Strongmunication skills for interacting with both customers and suppliers
16. High attention to detail and accuracy across all financial processes
17. A proactive approach to problem‑solving and managing deadlines
18. Experience preparing VAT returns and assisting with cashflow reporting would be a distinct advantage
