Exciting opportunity to join Stockton Hall Hospital as we expand our capacity. We are looking to recruit highly motivated occupational therapists to join our team of forensic occupational therapists and therapy assistants. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to detained patients within our mental illness service line. (opportunities could include working within our female service line). This is a full time role of 37.5 hours. Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.
What youll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
Working in a medium secure setting, you will work with a variety of conditions which are often complex and challenging, demonstrating a good knowledge of occupational therapy input into risk assessment and risk management. Standardised clinical tools based on the Model of Human Occupation will be utilised where the post holder has identified their appropriateness using specialist knowledge. Our commitment to individual clinical and management supervision and continuing professional development will support you in this specialist role. The suitable candidates will have the opportunity to supervise other members of the occupational therapy team, as well as contribute to service developments.

Responsibilities
* Manages and coordinates the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
* Receives and responds promptly to referrals, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patients rehabilitation / progress.
* Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
* Maintains and develops close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
What youll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will hold a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, along with full BAOT membership and current HCPC registration.
