Fire Project Manager & Estimator
Stevenage, Hertfordshire
£45,000 – £65,000 (DOE) + Company Vehicle
We’re currently partnering with a well-established and growing business in the fire & security sector to recruit an experienced Fire Project Manager & Estimator.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company in a key, dual-function role combining technical estimating with full lifecycle project management.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of fire system projects from initial enquiry through to completion, while producing accurate, competitive estimates. This role offers excellent variety, responsibility, and the chance to work across multiple systems and projects.
️ Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Design
* Prepare detailed quotations, tenders, and technical specifications
* Interpret client requirements, drawings, and site surveys
* Design and price fire alarm systems (conventional & analogue addressable)
* Estimate additional systems including:
* Emergency lighting
* PA/VA systems
* Nurse call systems
* Disabled refuge & alarm systems
* Present proposals to clients where required
Project Management
* Manage projects from handover through to completion
* Coordinate engineers and schedule installations
* Monitor progress against timelines and construction programmes
* Liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout
* Manage variations, changes, and additional works
* Ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time
Team & Operations
* Support and oversee installation engineers
* Approve timesheets and manage holidays/absence
* Provide technical guidance to internal teams
* Assist with workload planning and departmental priorities
* Commercial & Admin
o Price works orders, call-outs, and variations
o Prepare documentation for invoicing
o Handle customer queries professionally
o Support audits and compliance inspections
On-CallParticipation in an escalation rota for emergency call-outs (as required). About You
o Proven experience in fire alarm systems (design, estimating, or project management)
o Strong technical knowledge across fire and associated systems
o Excellent organisation and communication skills
o Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
o Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
o Practical, problem-solving mindset
