Job Introduction
InspireU is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Well-Being Coach to work with individual young people who have special or particular needs. The primary goal is to support these young people in understanding and following the Behaviour Policy, ensuring their safeguarding and wellbeing.
Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK, we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.
About the Role
InspireU settings across Lincolnshire have embraced the Learner Conduct Policy, supported by ‘When the adults change everything Changes’ by Paul Dix, to support our variety of learners in engaging positively within the classroom setting.
The framework allows the Wellbeing Coach to employ a range of techniques and interventions to enable learners to re-enter the classroom and re-engage effectively. You will nurture, guide, and mentor learners rather than issue sanctions.
Main duties of the role include:
1. Form effective, positive, and appropriate working relationships with learners, creating an atmosphere of trust and support.
2. Provide behaviour support for targeted groups and individual students, removing barriers to learning and increasing participation and engagement.
3. Collaborate with Learning Support, Safeguarding, and Pastoral teams to promote positive engagement and behaviour.
4. Encourage and praise learners to develop self-reliance and self-esteem.
5. Promote student mental and physical wellbeing.
6. Develop and carry out interventions to bring about positive changes in challenging behaviour.
7. Support attendance monitoring processes.
This position is based in Grantham, with two days a week to be worked in Ruskington, and possible travel to other sites around Lincolnshire.
About You
You will need to be:
* Resilient
* Creative and reactive
* Demonstrate a positive classroom presence
* Dynamic and resourceful in your approach—able to think on your feet
* Have strong communication skills
You will work closely with your team, providing feedback to tutors and pastoral care leads on learners' progress, successes, and areas for development, creating individual plans of action.
In line with the policy 'When the adult changes, everything changes'. Could you be the change?
