About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Strategic Service Managers to join the Operational Commissioning Team in Hinckley and Northwest Leicestershire.
The operational commissioning teams offer place-based support in the following areas where long term complex case management is required:
1. Cognition and Physical Disabilities – Supporting adults with physical disabilities and older people with eligible needs related to frailty and cognitive disabilities.
2. Learning Disability and Autism - Supporting adults over the age of 18 who approach the Local Authority for social care support in relation to either Learning Disability or Autism.
3. Mental Health - Provides support for adults over the age of 18 who approach the local authority for social care support in relation to either their Mental Health or Substance Misuse.
We are looking to recruit 1 FTE Strategic Service Manager for NWL on a permanent basis – you will be responsible for all Team Managers/Leaders (as Direct Reports) and associated teams which includes the countywide accommodation review service.
We are also looking to recruit 1 FTE Strategic Service Manager for Hinckley on a 6-month fixed term contract to cover the substantive post holder – you will be responsible for all Team Managers/Leaders (as Direct Reports) and associated teams which includes the countywide Young Adult Disabilities team.
You will report to the Head of Service for the locality, these posts will also have a learning disability and autism lead role. You will build relationships with members of the public, people who use services and their carers and departmental partners and stakeholders.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
• Have substantial adult social care experience at a policy or operational management level, and theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of and social care legislation, policy and best practice
• Demonstrable experience in managing and implementing change and performance improvement programmes
• Have experience in successfully prioritising between competing service demands
• Have proven experience in budget management and in delivering significant efficiency savings
• Have significant experience in people and performance management
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of partnership pressures and interdependencies relative to service area, and have an excellent knowledge of partnership agencies in statutory, voluntary and independent sectors
