The role
As a Charge Nurse at Selden Centre, you’ll combine clinical expertise with day-to-day leadership, helping ensure safe, high-quality care for people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
You will:
* Take charge of shifts, leading and coordinating the ward team
* Deliver and oversee evidence-based, person-centred care
* Undertake assessments, care planning and risk management
* Act as Primary Nurse for a defined group of patients
* Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students
* Work closely with families, carers and the wider MDT
The setting
Selden Centre is a 10-bed Assessment and Treatment Unit supporting adults with learning disabilities across Sussex.
You’ll be part of a well-established multidisciplinary team, working in a setting that allows for:
* More time to build therapeutic relationships
* A strong focus on positive behaviour support and recovery
* Close collaboration across nursing, psychology and wider MDT
Working pattern
* Internal rotation including days, nights and weekends
* 24-hour service environment
