Job Description:
Research Fellow in Zero Carbon Mobility Evaluation
This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Would you like to be part of a major collaborative research programme to help tackle transport’s contribution to the climate crisis? Are you looking to apply your research skills to understand the whole life carbon impacts of the transport system? Do you thrive on working in an exciting and creative environment committed to making a difference?
Inspiring Futures for Zero Carbon Mobility (INFUZE) is a major £7.8m five-year research grant funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. Working across the Universities of Leeds, Lancaster and the Royal College of Art, INFUZE aims to achieve transformative change in transport, addressing the climate challenge while improving fairness and quality of life. The programme collaborates with citizens and businesses to re-imagine transport systems, building real-world trials with communities, transport providers, and government partners. We seek a passionate researcher to focus on the whole life carbon and wider impacts of transitioning away from individual car ownership. While the role centers on mobility transition, applications from candidates with relevant skills in other policy domains are encouraged.
What we offer in return:
* 26 days holiday plus approximately 16 Bank Holidays/closed days (including Christmas)—totaling 42 days annually!
* Generous pension scheme with 14.5% employer contribution and life assurance.
* Health & Wellbeing benefits, including discounted staff memberships at The Edge, our campus gym with facilities like a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
