The Opportunity
Based within Arup’s Finance team, our Payroll Shared Service Centre is responsible for the end to end processing of the monthly payroll for ARUP staff within UK, UAE, India and Kenya. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 6-month FTC Payroll Assistant to support with these activities, reporting directly to the Payroll Deputy Team Leader. We are in the process of consolidating further payrolls into the SSC, so this role will support the team to successfully achieve our goals.
You will make an impact in this role by supporting all payroll processing activities including:
1. Starters, leavers
2. One-off payments, season ticket and bicycle loans
3. Checking payroll changes
4. Tax uploads
5. Sickness Absence
6. Statutory Absence including Birthing parent and Shared Parental
7. International Payroll Processing
8. Reporting and reconciliations
9. Payroll reconciliations / Data cleansing
10. Third party payments
11. Assisting with correspondence and customer service
12. Ad-Hoc tasks as and when required
Requirements
13. Demonstrate strong payroll processing experience
14. Have a solid working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel
15. Be able to work with an exceptionally high degree of accuracy and to tight timescales
16. Have an awareness or experience of working in a Shared Service Centre environment
17. Demonstrate an understanding of payroll legislation and processes
18. Be able to create and review procedures
19. Possess process improvement experience
