Are you a dynamic and experienced countryside professional with enthusiasm for nature and knowledge of its conservation and the outdoors? We're looking for a Lead Ranger to join our team.

This is a duty manager role providing 24 hour emergency cover for the property on a roster basis. This means that on-site accommodation is provided to the post-holder for the proper or better performance of his or her duties in accordance with Trust criteria and HMRC rules.

What it's like to work here:As the Lead Ranger for Lanhydrock, you'll be joining our property leadership team to become a voice for our landscapes, a conservation champion, and an advocate for helping people to enjoy the outdoors. You will be working in collaboration with the leadership team to ensure Lanhydrock's experience is innovative, audience-led and true to our spirit of place. The estate includes woodland, riverside paths and a Grade 2* listed parkland of international importance for its wildlife and ancient trees. Our outdoor offer includes 14km of off-road cycle trails, 40km of footpaths, a bridle route, adventure playground and Tramper facility.

What you'll be doing:Your role will be to lead our ranger team to deliver more for land and nature. You will be responsible for writing and delivering our estate and woodland management plans and creating positive partnerships with our tenants and neighbours. You will have an enthusiasm for increasing access to the outdoors and inspiring a broad audience about our work. Reporting to the General Manager, you will work closely with the Estate Manager, Community and Participation Manager and Property Experiences Curator.

You'll have responsibility for managing budgets - operational and project - that are required to deliver this work and for protecting and enhancing the Trust's assets and reputation. Already a strong leader, you're looking for the next step. You'll need extensive knowledge of land management and a track record of delivering to a high standard, ensuring compliance with health and safety. You'll be able to balance managing and developing our countryside estate with the demands of a busy, high-profile visitor environment.

• An experienced people manager with the ability to lead a team to deliver effectively

* An excellent communicator with experience in stakeholder management

* Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, inspiring, great with people and comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds

* Experienced in relevant land, conservation and access management

* Experienced in leading a culture of exceptional customer service

* Organised and self-motivated, confidently able to manage a demanding workload with competing demands on your time

* Confident in managing budgets, finances and contracts

* Knowledgeable of health and safety requirements and other compliance issues relating to the countryside and visitor activities

* Holder of a full UK driving licence
